I bought this dvd as a gift for a office Christmas exchange and the recipient seemed to appreciate it.

If you are a Ben Folds fan, this is one that has the same feel of his much earlier 54th St DVD. Too bad that the drunkard in the audience had to ruin one of his best songs, Jesusland, by falling over the railing on the second level. Ben did another concert for MySpace which is downloadable if you do a diligent search. (I hope it will be properly released on DVD in the near future). It was a reunion to perform his Reinhold Messner album in totality. My, how the other members of his BFF band had aged in a few years! Ben’s dad makes a cameo performing his narration of the phone call in one of his tunes.

Definately one for the DVD Archive. Not only is it a first for the myspace live concert experience its also an exceptional performance by a truly amazing artist. Ben Fold in my opinion is one of a very few artists from out generation that is able to truly entertain a crowd with just a piano, bass and drum.

This is a great treat for Ben Folds fans.
The set list is wonderful and does not rely too heavily on his standards; No Brick, no Song For The Dumped or Best Imitation Of Myself, and that is fine by me. I would have loved to see Landed or Late added to the set list ; but that is a minor complaint. Actually it’s not even a complaint, really. Ben is in fine form, his band is great. The audience is into it. They also become part of the show a few times. (Check out the “ringtone orchestra”). The reason this one gets a one star demerit is for the bad acting, both with “titler” and the guy who “jumps” from the balcony. I love zany, but both of these “scripted” elements didn’t work for me, and took me right out of the show.
That being said, you should get it for the music. You should get it because Ben Folds knows how to write great songs. You should get it because it’s Ben Folds

I own all the live dvd’s out by Ben Folds and this is another great volume in the collection. This one is definitely special because he is performing in his own studio. The little twists thrown in there give it a light hearted fun filler! Anyone who enjoys a little piano and honest lyrics should give this a try. Since this was performed on myspace, it provides a new generation with Ben Folds.
Overall anyone who is a fan, this is a must. Anyone who does not know him (where have you been?), should check out Ben, he is a good artist for a time of crappy hacks and followers.
